Rhonda Sanderson began her career in public relations after her marriage to a professional athlete ended in 1981. She had been managing the media for her former husband, and, armed with a journalism degree, moved from Toronto to Chicago, her home, to pursue a career.

As luck would have it, she landed a position with a small firm that was only 2 years old. In the time that she was there, she helped develop a franchise division, and worked on such accounts as Subway when they had only 140 stores, Houlihan’s, Hair Performers and many other well known chains.

In 1984 Rhonda left the firm to start Sanderson & Associates, a smaller boutique firm with a more personal feel. The agency was designed to offer more personal one-to-one service to franchisors and their franchisees. For 25 years Rhonda and her team have helped grow hundreds of franchise systems such as Merry Maids, Molly Maid, ServiceMaster, Hardees, Smoothie King, GarageTek, Signs by Tomorrow, Meineke Discount Muffler, Express Employment Professionals, One Hour Martinizing, Sbarro the Italian Eatery, The Counter, Floor Coverings International, Decorating Den and Juice Club, known today as Jamba Juice, a name change that took place after an LA Times story, placed by Sanderson & Associates, led Starbucks to invest $49 million in the company...
